Mr. Thiru R. Sellamuthu is the honourable chairman of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. The commission actually consists of a Chairman and fourteen other members. The commission actually came into existence under Article 316 to 319, Government of India. The Governor of Tamil Nadu holds the responsibility of appointing the members of the commission. The responsibility of ensuring the implementation of commission’s various decisions is handled by the secretary of the commission only. Making direct recruitment to state, subordinate and ministerial services is one of the prime objective of the commission.

Job Profile:

Online or offline applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the posts of General Foreman and Technical Assistant in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. Candidates are required to check their eligibility for the desired position before applying for it.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for the post of General Foreman is 30 years as on 1 July 2011.
The minimum age limit set for the post of Technical Assistant is 18 years as on 1 July 2011 while the maximum age limit set for the post is 35 years.

Reserved categories candidates will get relaxation of few years in the upper age limit set for the post as per the rules of Government of India.

Educational Qualification:

For the post of General Foreman: Degree in Mehcanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering or Automobile Technology from any recognized university by University Grants Commission. Candidates possessing Diploma in Automobile Engineering are also eligible to apply.

For the post of Technical Assistant: Degree in Mehcanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering or Automobile Technology from any recognized university by University Grants Commission. Candidates possessing Diploma in Automobile Engineering are also eligible to apply.

Technical Assistant: Only 8 posts are available.

Pay Scale:

General Foreman: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4700.
Technical Assistant: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4700.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected on any of two mentioned post on the basis of their performance in the two stages of the selection process which includes:

i. Competitive Written Examination
ii. Personal Interview Examination
