The Burdwan District in the state of West Bengal is also spelled as Bardhaman District and the city of Bardhaman or Burdwan is the headquarters of the district. Burdwan Medical College, Burdwan came into existence in the year 1969 and the college is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. As far as the MBBS offered by the college is concerned, the course is approved by the Medical Council of India and its intake capacity of 100 students per year. Previously, the intake capacity of the institution for MBBS course was only 50 students per year, which was increased to 100 students per year from 2000 due to the best quality education offered by the institution. For seeking admission to this college, candidates must have completed their UG degree in any discipline with not less than 50% of aggregate marks.

Arts, Science & Commerce Colleges:
