How to fill UPSC Geologist Exam Form?

UPSC was established as a government organization on 1st October 1926. The headquarters of UPSC is at New Delhi. The commission conducts many competitive exams to recruit candidates to the various Civil Services departments of India. The Geologist exam is carried out for the recruitment for the posts in Central Ground Water Board and Geological Survey of India.

Instructions to be followed for filling in form

Following are the instructions to fill the online application form for UPSC Geologist exam.

  • There will be two parts of the online application form and the the applicants must complete both the parts.
  • The aspirants are required to a pay an amount of Rs. 100/- as an online application fee.
  • The money has to be remitted in any of the SBI branches.
  • The applicant should have his/her photograph and signature suitably scanned in the .jpg format.
  • The applicants are strongly recommended to submit the online application before the last date.
  • The candidates should follow the instructions mentioned below to fill the offline application form.
  • The applicant has to use only the common application form for UPSC exams.
  • The applicant should procure the form only from the designated post offices
  • The candidates must fill the form in their own handwriting
  • Darken the circles and furnish the columns using only black ball point pen.
  • Make sure that the signatures appended by the aspirants in all the places must be identical.
  • The commission will not allow the candidates to make any change in the original application after submission.
  • The completed form has to reach the address on or before the final date.
  • The candidate should decide the centre for the examination while filling the form
  • The applicant must write the name of the examination and the application form number on the acknowledgement card.

Exemptions for candidates while filling the form

  • The applicants belonging to SC/ST category and all the female applicants need not remit any exam fee.
  • The fee exemption is not allowed to the OBC candidates.
  • Physically handicapped candidates will get both age relaxation and fee exemption if they submit their medical certificates to the authority.
  • Candidates who have domicile of State of J & K and Ex-servicemen also have age relaxation.
  • The SC/ST applicants are given an age relaxation of 5 years.
  • For OBC candidates, the age relaxation is 3 years.

Acknowledgement of exam application form

As soon as the applicant submits the filled application form, the commission will send back the acknowledgement card suitably stamped to the applicant. If the card is not received by the applicant within 30 days, he/she should immediately contact the commission’s office. The applicant should quote the name and year of exam and the application form number while approaching the authority.
