IFS General Knowledge Papers
The Union Public Service Commission of India conducts a competitive examination for recruiting candidates to the various posts of Indian Forest Services. All the details of the exams are published in the national daily the Employment News and The Gazette of India. The duration of IFS exam is generally 10 days. There are also reservation for the candidates who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. The percentage of seats reserved for them will be fixed by the Government. There are no seats reserved for the physically disabled candidates.
Paper Pattern
General Knowledge Papers is of 300 marks and of 3 hours duration. The paper contains questions from current events and such matters of everyday experience which is expected to be known to an educated person. The paper also has Questions on Indian Polity including the Constitution of India and the political system, Geography of nature and History of India. A candidate is required to answer all the questions and answers are to written in English and not in any other vernacular. However, they get choices in individual questions which have several questions.
