Department of Food and Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Punjab was established in the year 1942 in the city of Lahore. The main purpose of the establishment of the department is to meet the food scarcities at the time of World War-II. The Department works under the administrative control of the Secretary of the Department.

The main objective of the Department is procurement of food grains such as wheat and rice for the Central Pool. The primary functions of the department are procurement, storage and transportation of food grains, distribution of essential commodities to the economically weaker sections through the public distribution system, management & control of essential commodities during scarcity and natural disasters, protection of consumer rights in conjunction with the consumer courts, and ensuring correct weights and measures of consumer goods.

Pay Scale – Rs. 10300 - 34800 + Grade pay of Rs. 3800

Eligibility:

Age criteria – The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 37 years (Relaxable as per rules)

Educational Qualification – The candidates must have passed B.Com/ Graduate degree with Maths as one of the subject from any recognized university or Institution. They must have done Punjabi up to Matric level. They must have 3 years working experience with Government / Semi-Government organization, business/ commercial establishment/ organization or a chartered Accountant firm.
