Jaypee University of Information Techology also known as J.P. University of Information Technology or JUIT is situated in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. The university is a private university, which focuses on post-graduate and undergraduate engineering studies and research in different disciplines of engineering. The university was set up through a notification from Government of Himachal Pradesh dated the 23rd of May 2002.
The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission Act under sec. 2 (f). The university started its operations from the year 2002 on the month of July with undergraduate B. Tech courses in bioinformatics, information technology, computer science & engineering and electronics & communication engineering.
In addition to under-graduation courses, the university is also offering M. Tech in biotechnology, construction management, electronics & communication, computer science & engineering. The university is also offering dual degree of B. Pharm and M. Pharm and the course extends to a period of six years. The campus of the university is located in the district of Solan spread over an area of 25 acres. The building of the university is spread over a total area of 600000 sq. ft. All the students and faculties residing in the campus of the university are offered with internet connectivity facility.
