Kalasalingam University was previously working as Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering and the university is located in a serene campus with scenic mountains in its surroundings. The university is accredited with B grade status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with CGPA of 2.81. The university holds the pride of being the first university to offer special bachelor of technology course for hearing and speech impaired people.

The university also offers the facility of lateral entry to all the afore-mentioned Bachelor of Technology branches except for food technology and chemical engineering. Admission of students to the B. Tech courses are done based on the performance of the students in the entrance examination conducted by the university and on the basis of the merit secured by them in their higher secondary examination.
As far as lateral entry is concerned, candidates must have secured 60% of aggregate marks in their pre-final and final semester in the three-year diploma course and they should also get through the entrance examination conducted by the university. Admission to the PG courses is also done based on entrance test conducted by the university. For PG courses, candidates must have completed their UG course in the respective disciplines.
