The University conducts separate entrance exams for the admittance of eligible ones to its PhD programme. Structure of Panjab University PhD Manufacturing Technology Entrance Exam

There will be 2 papers for the Manufacturing Technology entrance exam conducted by the Panjab University. First paper will be of objective type which covers questions from Applied Mathematics, General Engineering and Research Methodology. 50 multiple choice questions will be there in this section which have to be answered with in 1 hour duration. 1 mark will be rewarded for each correct response. There will be no negative marking for the wrong ones. Second paper will be of descriptive type. 10 questions will be there in this section, out of which the candidates need to attend only 5. Each question will carry 10 marks. The time duration allotted for this section is 2 hours.

Eligibility Criteria

For admittance to the PhD programme in Manufacturing Technology from Panjab University, one should have passed their Master’s examination in Manufacturing Technology or allied subjects with at least 55% (50% for SC/ST Category) marks in aggregate.

How to Apply?

The application form along with prospectus of Panjab University PhD Manufacturing Technology Entrance Exam can be obtained from the University centre and various other concerned centers by cash payment of Rs. 1800/- (Rs. 900/- for SC / ST candidates). The same can also be obtained through post for which a request along with DD of Rs. 1900/- (Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST candidates) which drawn in favor of ‘The Registrar’, Panjab University, Chandigarh and  payable at State Bank of India, Sector-14, Chandigarh has to be sent to ‘The Manager’, Publication Bureau, Panjab University, Chandigarh – 160014.

  • Fill the application form in candidates’ own hand writing
  • No columns have to be left blank
  • Name and date of birth should match with that in higher secondary certificate
  • Completed OMR Application form along with Acknowledgement Card, Admit Card, Two Self-addressed duly stamped envelopes have to be sent to ‘The Assistant Registrar’, CET CELL, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall (Near Post Office), Panjab University, Sector-14, Chandigarh – 160014.
