Panjab University is one of the prominent Universities in India offering high quality education in various courses. It offers a number of graduate level, post graduate level, diploma as well as doctoral programs in various streams. They organize separate entrance exams annually for the purpose of selecting eligible candidates for admission into these courses. The Panjab University conducts the PhD Engineering Education Entrance Exam for the purpose of selecting eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering Education course.

Structure of Panjab University PhD Engineering Education Entrance Exam

The exam comprises of two parts. The first part will contain 50 questions of objective type with multiple choices. The candidate gets 1 mark for each correct answer and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The total time duration of this section will be one hour. The second part will be subjective in nature and there will be 10 questions in this section. Each question carries 10 marks. The total time duration of this section will be 2 hours.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who hold a Master’s degree in the subject or its allied field from a recognized University are eligible to appear for this exam. The candidates require at least 55% marks in the qualifying exam in order to apply for this exam. The reserved category candidates have a relaxation of 5% in the marks required to apply for this exam.

How to apply?

Application forms worth Rs.1800/- can be collected directly from the University office. The reserved category candidates have a relaxation of 50% in the fees for application form. The candidate can obtain the application form by post also. For this, they have to send a request for the form to the University office along with a DD of Rs.1900/- in favour of The Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The reserved category candidates should attach a DD of Rs.1000/- only. The completely filled application form should be sent to The Manager, Publication Bureau, Panjab University, Chandigarh – 160014.

How to fill the Form?

The application form must be filled very carefully after going through the instructions given in the official website. They should mention their name in block letters and it should match with that in the original documents. They should also fill up their contact details very accurately. They should enter their category and date of birth also correctly. They should fill up their qualification details without making any mistakes. Once they finished filling the form they have to cross check once more to ensure that no columns are left blank.

Study Plan

The candidates should be ready with a good study plan at least 3 months prior to the exam. The plan should give prime attention to the difficult portions. They should also go through the previous question papers to be clear about the overall exam pattern. They should note down the repeated and important questions in a separate note pad and should go through those questions at the time of revision. They should be thorough with the entire syllabus of the exam. They should give a special importance to time management in their study plan as the exams will be time bounded. They are advised to approach a coaching centre that aids them to prepare for this exam if necessary. They should be ready with every detail to be presented at the time of exam at least two days before the exam to avoid last minute complications.
