Company profile: Mumbai Port Trust delivers services such as handling, storing, packaging and delivery of cargo and containers. It has a variety of facilities like watering, dry docks, reefer points, bunkering etc. The main aim of the trust is to improve services and quality by making an improvement in the infrastructure, attain excellence, and observe the safety norms. 

Job profile: The pilots will be required to work on the port and ships as well and will be required to perform activities like piloting of vessels, berthing of vessels in the docks. They will also be required to perform posting on dredgers.

Eligibility: The upper age limit for a pilot is 35 years. However, relaxation is available as per the rules.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must have a certificate of competency as a Master (Foreign Going) from the ministry of surface transport or shipping or govt. of India and a minimum experience of 6 months as a chief officer on the board ships.

No. of posts: There are 8 posts in total which include 2 posts for ST, 2 posts for SC and 4 posts for OBC.

Pay scale: The pilots will be given a pay scale of Rs 14500-18200 plus other allowances as per rules.

Selection process: The candidates have to appear for an interview. The selections will be purely on the basis of merit.

How to apply: The candidates can download the application form from the website. The candidates have to appear for a walk-in interview between 3 PM to 4PM at Services Department, Port House, 2nd Floor, Shoorji Vallabhdas Marg, Ballard Estate, Mumbai – 400001 and the contact person is Mr. Ravi Nair (assistant Secretary).

Last date: The candidates can go for the interviews up to 31st March 2010.
