Printing Technology
Printing is the process to reproducing of an image or a text on a piece of paper by the use of ink with the help of a printing press. Printing technology is concerned with the management of printing work for a printing press. It includes all the processes from assembling films to operating printing equipments to cutting finished work.
Course Outlook:
The B.E/B.Tech course in printing technology is a four year full time course. The course is divided into eight semesters of six month duration each. The diploma course in printing technology is of one or one and half year duration. The course structure and duration is generally decided by the institute itself.
Eligibility:
For doing a B.E or diploma course, the candidate has to pass the 10+2 exam from a recognized board with physics, chemistry and mathematics. The admissions are generally based on an entrance test.
Job Prospects:
Printing technology specialist is required by every major printing press in the country. All the newspaper printing press and other journals and magazine printing press require many quality technicians with knowledge in the printing machinery and tools. The work of a printing technologist varies from planning the given task to managing texts or looking after the working of machinery.
