Ministry of Environment and Forests was established as an Indian Government ministry. The ministry has several subordinate offices located in different cities of India. The minister of the Environment and Forests also holds the cabinet rank as a member of the council of ministers. Mr. Jairam Prakash is the Union Minister of Environment and Forests. The major functionality of the ministry includes planning, promoting and coordinating the implementation of environmental and forestry programmmes in India. Conservation of the flora and fauna of India are the two other major activities of the ministry. The ministry also includes various autonomous institutes under it.

Job Profile:

Ministry of Environment and Forests is making recruitment of young and eligible candidates on the posts of Research Officer (Environment) Grade-II. Only eligible Indian Nationals are invited to apply for the specified position of Research Officer in Ministry of Environment and Forests.

Eligibility:

Candidates should be an officer under the Central Goernment/State Government/Union Territories etc. Candidates must be holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department with atleast five years of experience in the service, which should come in the Pay Band of Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200 or equivelnt. Candidates should also be within the prescribed age limit set for the post or else his/her candidature will be cancelled.

Educational Qualification:

Master’s degree in Environmental Science or Earth Science or Zoology or Chemistry or BioChemistry or Biotechnology is required for applying for the post of Resear4ch officer (Environment) Grade-II in Ministry of Environment and Forests. Candidates, who have done Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in Environemntal Sciences or Bio Technology from a recognized university are also eligible for the post. Candidates must posses atleast 2 years of experience in collection and data analysis on Environmental subjects.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the prescribed amount of salary under Pay Band II i.e. Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

Selection Committee:
