Structure of Section Officer’s Grade Examination for Civil Accounts Branch

There will be two parts for this exam.

Subjects for part 1 with their marks and duration are given below

  • Service Regulations (Theory) – 100 marks with duration of 1 ½ hours
  • Service Regulations (Practical) – 100 marks with duration of 2 ½ hours
  • Financial Rules and Principles of Government Accounts – 100 marks with duration of 2 hours
  • Constitution of India – 100 marks with 2 hours

Subjects for part 2 with their marks and duration are given below

  • Précis and Draft – 100 marks with duration of 2 ½ hours
  • Public Works Accounts (Theory) – 100 marks with duration of 1 ½ hours
  • Accountancy – 100 marks with duration of 2 hours
  • Government Accounts - 100 marks with duration of 2 hours
  • Computer System (Theory) – 50 marks with duration of 1 hour
  • Computer System (Practical) – 50 marks with duration of 2 hours
  • Statistics– 100 marks with duration of 2 hours

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate applying for this test should need Degree approved by any recognized University.

Form should be filled correctly using block letters. Name should be specified as exactly as in Degree certificate. Forms without filling mandatory fields will not be accepted.

Study Plan

There will be many candidates for writing this exam as this is a government exam. Therefore there will be tight competition in this exam. To perform well in this exam students need good preparation. It is better to start preparation three months before the exam. Set up daily plan for studying and execute it effectively. Change that schedule every week and revise topics at the end of each week. Divide the topics into small segments and prioritize it according to the difficulty in each segment. Allocate time according to the difficulty in each segment. It is better to practice with sample questions which resembles the pattern of the exam. Student can collect old question papers or question banks for this. Evaluate the answers and understand any difficulty in answering a question. If there is any difficulty, then it indicates insufficient knowledge of a topic. Study that topic again and improve the knowledge of the concerned topic. Avoid getting strained from studying.
