B.E/B.Tech students who are pursuing second or third year of the course are eligible for summer internship in IISc. The facility is offered mainly at two constituent centers of IISc, Computer Science and Automation (CSA) and Supercomputer Education and Research Centre (SERC). These centers offer internship programs in diverse areas in engineering like Computer Networks, Video Analytics, Operating Systems, Numerical Linear Algebra, Program Analysis, and so on. Apart from this Department of Civil Engineering, IISc also offer summer internship programs for Civil Engineering students. This program is supported by the University Grant Commission and Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria for Summer Internship in IISc

Those who are enrolling in the second or third year of engineering studies are eligible to apply for summer internship in IISc. Such candidates must be pursuing their B.E/B.Tech degree in any of the streams of Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Electronics and Instrumentation. Candidate must have obtained minimum 75% marks in B.E/B.Tech up to the semesters/years completed so far.

Application Procedure for Summer Internship Program in IISc

Eligible and desirous students can apply online through the web portal of IISc. Candidate must upload a reference letter while submitting the application form. Reference letter must be in web-based form issued either by the Head of the Department or the Principal of the college. Any senior faculty member of the college can also issue the reference letter. Website of IISc will contain details on how to fill up the application form. Candidate should follow these guidelines before filling and submitting the application.

All applicants are not selected for summer internship in IISc. Selection of most eligible candidates is done by a committee of faculty members at the Departments of CSA/SERC. Selected candidates should reach the institute on the insisted date. They can join the internship program after certificate verification process.
