Kashmir University carries out admission to 3^rd semester of B.Tech degree on the basis of an objective model entrance test. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Machine Drawing and Engineering Graphics are the main topics asked for the entrance test. B.Sc/Diploma holders with a minimum of 60% marks can apply for this entrance test.

Candidates having completed diploma in engineering from any of the State Board of Technical Education (or equivalent) can apply for B.Tech lateral entry admission in Kashmir University. B.Sc holders who have studied mathematics as a subject can also apply. Degree/Diploma must be obtained with a minimum of 60% marks. Application fee for attending the entrance test is Rs.400/-. Fee must be paid in the form of Demand Draft in the name of the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University.
