UPSC Mains Indian Languages Compulsary Marathi Paper II Papers


This paper belongs to the category of the compulsory Indian language paper. This paper basically has been given to test the vernacular skills of the aspirants of UPSC examination.

Importance Of The Subject:

Marathi is the native language of the state of Maharashtra. Now this language is supposed to be of utmost importance to the candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra. Through this paper, the candidates are tested top to bottom for their vernacular skills as far as Marathi as a language of their regional state is concerned.

Overview of the Paper Pattern:

This paper has been divided into several sections.

SECTION A: This has a number of subdivisions in it which carries long answers based on the explanations of the following lines.

SECTION B: This again consists of long answers based on a number of different prose pieces.

Now another thing to remember is that answering question number 1 and 5 is compulsory. After that we can answer any other three questions. Each question carries 60 marks respectively.

Some points to remember

The most important thing that any candidate should keep in mind is that, it’s a must to be thorough with the previous years papers really well, as most of the question patter and often the questions are repeated from there. Another important aspect is to focus on all long type of questions, as these can be really tricky.

Marks And Time Alloted:

The Marathi paper-I carries 300 marks and a total time of three hours is given to finish the paper.
