WBUT is West Bengal’s esteemed university and many colleges in West Bengal are affiliated to this university. This university provides bachelors and masters degree in engineering, management and other IT related degrees like BBA and BCA. The structure of their curriculum is very organized and they have included all the important subjects required in different fields. Control system is one among those subjects which is very important for engineers doing their bachelors in various departments. It is a subject that requires proper understanding and also includes lots of calculations. But if one goes through previous years’ paper then the pattern of questions can be easily understood. Apart from this one can also short list important modules. Although the question paper setting pattern are such that it almost covers all the important topics and thereby measures students’ understanding of the subject.

How Many Groups Can You Expect In This Paper?

There are three groups in the question paper. Group A questions are multiple choice type. Students have to pick correct answers from given 4 to 5 options. Group B questions are short answer type, each carrying 3 marks. Group C are long answer type, each containing 15 marks.

Paper Pattern And Number Of Questions Asked:

The whole paper is for 70 marks and has 3 groups. In Group A only 10 questions are to be answered, each question carries 1 mark. This section checks whether the pupil is completely thorough with the subject. In Group B and Group C 3 questions are to be answered. Questions in Group B and Group C may contain sub questions. Mostly all the sub questions of a given question belong to the same module.

Control system paper usually contains numerical questions but one can expect a bit of theory also. Students can also expect short notes kind of questions in Group C.

Division of Marks

Division of marks is always fixed. 1 mark for every question in Group A, 5 marks for every question in group B and 15 marks for every question in Group C. However, the sub questions may contain different marks, but the marks for question as a whole remains the same.

How Many Hours Would You Be Given to Complete The Paper?

WBUT has allotted three hours to complete this paper. This much time is sufficient for students to attempt all the questions.
