B.Tech in Environmental Engineering is a bachelor level course. This branch of engineering mainly deals with the subjects on environment relevant matters like Pollution control, Hazardous waste management, Toxic materials control, Water supply related problems and other main areas in this field. This branch of Engineering has become popular in the recent times because of the increase in the consciousness about the environment among the people and the society.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for doing B.Tech in Environmental Engineering is that one should have passed his/her higher secondary exam from any of the recognized board in India. They should have studied science (with physics, chemistry and mathematics) with at least 50% marks in aggregate to pursue this course of Engineering. For seeking admission in this course the candidates have to clear the competitive exams like AIEEE, JEE, WB-JEE, BITS etc. The admission is strictly based on the merit of the candidate.
Course Outlook
The B.Tech in Environmental Engineering is a four year program. These four years are divided into four parts comprising of one year each and again it is divided into duration of six months semester. At the end of each semester the student has to appear for the university exams.
Job Prospects
After completing the B.Tech course in Environmental Engineering the candidates work in the Central and State Pollution Control boards. They can also opt for the further studies in this field as M.Tech.
