Felix Scholarship – Essential Details
Indian graduates with good academic results and in need of financial help can apply for Felix Scholarship. Only three Universities like the University of Oxford, the University of London and the University of Reading are offering this scholarship. After getting selected for PG course in any of these Universities, one can send applications for acquiring the scholarship. Selection of the eligible candidate will be done after interview sessions conducted by the selection committee.
Overview of Felix Scholarship
The Felix Scholarship is an opportunity for Indian students for furthering their higher studies in any of the selected Universities in UK. Students from other developing countries like Sri Lanka, Peru, Ghana, Turkey and South Africa can also enjoy the benefits of this scholarship. It is offered in three Universities in UK, the University of Reading, the University of Oxford and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) (part of the University of London). Students can participate in any of the courses in these Universities, except courses in medicine. Financial need and academic excellence of the candidate are the main factors that are considered for awarding scholarship. About 20 scholarships will be awarded in each of the academic year.
Eligibility for Felix Scholarship
Felix Scholarship is open to underprivileged students with good academic merits. Bachelor’s degree from any of the recognized Indian University is the basic qualification required. Such candidates must have obtained the qualification with at least first class marks. Age of the candidate must be less than 30 years.
Selection Procedure for Felix Scholarship
Candidates who can gain admission in any of the above mentioned Universities can apply for Felix scholarship. The selected University short lists candidates on the basis of student’s academic merit and financial need. Shorted listed candidates will be sent for interview. Academic merit, personality, financial need and communication skills of the candidate are evaluated during interviews. There is a selection committee to carry out such interviews and candidates selected out of this section will be offered with scholarships.
Application forms can be downloaded from the website of Felix scholarship. Filled up application forms can be submitted to the concerned authority of the selected University. After scrutinizing the applications, short listed candidates will be informed on the date and venue of interview. For Indian students, interview centers will be at Bangalore or New Delhi. Candidates successful in the interview will be informed directly by the selected University.
