Scope of Industrial Safety Courses

The importance of Industrial Safety in Indian has seen an increase in recent years. The main focus of the industrial safety courses is to maintain safe operations at workplace and particularly in manufacturing industries. The most elementary concern in all such units is the safety and security measures. These concerns focus on the use of safety gears such as gloves, protective gears, etc. The use of cranes, hydraulic press, elevators, drillers, bull dozers and other such sophisticated machines are common both in indoor and outdoor factories. Skilled and trained personnel are required to operate these machines as a mere mistake may pave the way for a great disaster.

These candidates are needed to perform jobs related to property and environment by anticipating, methods, measuring, auditing and evaluating the effectiveness of hazard control, protection of people, developing hazard control designs, identifying and evaluating hazardous conditions and practices, Implementing, administering and advising personnel on hazard control, etc. Besides these jobs, safety experts are required in several organizations in public sector like ILO (International Labor Organization), social associations and organizations, research and development in industrial safety, etc. These professionals can also work independently as consultant or as a part time specialist. They are also recruited in the Pollution Control Boards of Central and State government. Some more career profiles are assistance and consultation with local executives concerning prospects of injury reports, on-site and off-site safety studies and inspection, suggestion related to improvement in safety programs, etc.

Employment scopes in the field of industrial safety are too many not only in India but also outside the country. The jobs are offered to skilled and trained professionals of this field in manufacturing industries and mines. Some of them are railway wagon manufacturers, ship builders, locomotive builders, etc.
