The swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University was established in the year 1987 on the 1st of August. The university was previously working as a part of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University located at Udaipur and it was given the status of a separate entity by an act of the state government of Rajasthan. The university is following the pattern of land grant system for bringing about more increased and efficient agricultural production. The university is hoping to play an important role in the development of sectors like agricultural engineering, home science, animal husbandry and agriculture and in the improvement of the status of the farmers belonging to the local area. The university’s aim is to carry out research programs based on production, propagation of new technologies and rural mass adoption and education. Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University was established with the objectives of imparting education and to carry out research in agriculture and related field and to undertake mass education programmes for the people of Rajasthan. The university is endorsed to offer education in agriculture and its related fields like agri-business management, home science and horticulture. It is also empowered to maintain agricultural colleges dealing with agri-business management, home science, agriculture and related fields of education. The other responsibilities of the university are to conduct examinations and to confer diplomas and degrees to the students. The courses offered by the university are structured in such a way that they widen the academic prospective of the staff, faculty and students so that they can contribute efficiently to the development of the nation.
