The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) was established in 1974 under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. The company provides technical services to the Ministry of Environment and Forests of the provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. The primary roles of CPCB are to encourage hygiene of wells and streams in different parts of the States by prevention, control and abatement of water pollution, and to improve the quality of air and to prevent, control or abate air pollution in the country. The most important function of CPCB is to collect, collate and disseminate technical and statistical data relating to water pollution.

Central Pollution control Board (CPCB) invites application for the post of Research Fellows (Junior and Senior.
No. of posts – Total number of posts is 25, which is split into 20 for Junior Research Fellow and 5 for Senior Research Fellow
Pay Scale - Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 12000 + HRA + Medical benefits; Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 14000 + HRA + Medical Benefits
Eligibility:
Age Criteria: 28 yrs
Educational Qualification:
Junior Research Fellow - M.Sc in Chemistry/ Organic Chemistry/ Microbiology/ Zoology/ Information Technology/ Environmental Science or Graduate in Environbmental/ Chemical Engineering preferably with some experience in relevant field.
Senior Research Fellow - Graduate in Engineering and Post Graduate degree in Science in the above mentioned disciplines with 2 yrs experience in relevant field.
