How Can One Become Eligible for M. Sc. in Seed Sciences and Technology?
Students who have a Bachelor’s Degree in agriculture or biological sciences or are in the final year of the relevant degree course can apply for the course. The undergraduate degree can be either in 10+2+4 scheme or in 10+2+3 scheme.
What Is Taught in the Course?
The regular course of Seed Sciences is of two years and spans over four semesters. The important subjects which are taught6 in this course are Principles of Seed Production, Seed Physiology, Seed Pathology, Seed Processing and Storage, Seed Marketing, Seed Quality Testing, and Seed Legislation and Certification. There are other subjects related to statistics and computers which are helpful in the study of seed science.

Students having a postgraduate degree in Seed Sciences have ample career prospects. They can apply in both Government and Private Sectors. Also, there are many self employment opportunities. There are posts of Seed Production Officer, Seed Testing Officers etc. in the Govt. Sector where students can seek out job prospects. Teaching is also another career scope.
