Paper pattern:

The paper on General Ability General Medicine & Paediatrics is a multiple choices question paper and one has to choose from the following four options a, b, c and d. One is given an external sheet to answer the questions. There are a total of one hundred and twenty questions in the entire paper all having four answers to chose from. Questions carry equal marks and some of the questions also have sub parts to them. One is asked general questions on medical terms, case study related questions and even acts and health policies formed over the years.

Maximum marks and time allotted:

The maximum marks obtainable in the General Ability, General Medicine & Paediatrics Papers of the Combined Medical Services Examination in the Union Public Service Commission is two hundred and fifty marks. The time allotted to complete the multiple choice based question paper is two hours only.
