A Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology course is offered in Lucknow University. Candidates are required to fulfill all the eligibility criteria for applying to the course. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have completed the 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subjects are eligible to apply for the B. Sc Biotechnology course in Lucknow University.

Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 55% aggregate in the qualifying examination. Candidates should also have studied English as one of the subjects.

Course Details

Admission to the B. Sc Biotechnology course will be based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination. Lucknow University follows the single window system. Admission will be done through a centralized allotment process. Candidates who satisfy all the eligibility criteria can apply for this course.

Shortlisted candidates are required to attend the counseling session on the specified date. B.Sc in Biotechnology course in Lucknow University follows the annual system. It is a three year course. Theory and practical is included in the course. There will be three papers along with the practical paper during each year of the course. The papers covered during the first year of study are as follows:

• Introductory Biological Chemistry
• Biophysical Chemistry
• Cell biology and Genetics

The second year of B. Sc Biotechnology includes the following papers:

• Bioenergetics and Bio membranes
• Animal and Plant Physiology
• Bio-statistics and computer

The final year of the course includes the following subjects:

• Molecular Biology and Biotechnology
• Animal and Plant Biotechnology
• Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology

Selected candidates are required to remit the specified admission fee at the time of counseling. A total amount of around Rs 50,000 has to be paid at the time of admission by those candidates who have opted for the B. Sc Biotechnology course. This includes the one-time payment of Rs 750 as enrollment fee. Admission fee also includes library fee, identity card fee etc along with the course fee.

The basic course fee required to be paid by students pursuing a degree in B. Sc Biotechnology from colleges/institutions affiliated to the University of Lucknow is around Rs 49,000 per annum. The laboratory fee is Rs 2000 per annum. A one-time payment of RS 750 is required to be remitted as enrollment fee.

Candidates who have opted for Biotechnology as a paid subject are required to remit Rs 24,000 per annum as tuition fee. An annual fee of Rs 16,000 is required to be remitted towards development fee. Students are also required to pay an additional fee of Rs 40,000 per annum.
