Heavy Water Board is a unit of Department of Atomic Energy. Its is responsible for the production of heavy water (D2O) which is used as moderator and coolant in the nuclear power reactors and research reactors. It is currently operating with six heavy water plants. It is also performing research on other uses of heavy water and energy conservation. 

Job profile: The technical officers will be required to work in the safety and chemical departments. They will be responsible for taking necessary safety measures and also to handle, manage and work with chemicals and chemical processes. They will also be responsible for supporting seniors.

Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age 25 years. However, relaxation can be claimed as per the rules.

Educational Qualifications: For a Technical Officer in safety department – A candidate must be a B.E/M.E degree in safety engineering with 60% marks OR B.E in civil/chemical/mechanical/electrical engineering with 60% marks OR a diploma from a recognized university.
For a Technical Officer in chemical department – A candidate must have a B.E/B.TECH degree in chemical engineering with 60% marks.

No. of posts: There are 2 posts in safety department and 6 in chemical department.

Pay scale: The technical officers will get a pay scale of Rs15600-39100 with a grade pay of Rs5400.

Selection process: The selection will be based on the performance during the interview.
