Some of the private scholarships offered for M.Tech students in Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB) are BG (British Gas) Fellowship, Dr. Gargi Vishnoi Memorial Scholarship, Forbes Marshall Fellowship, TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) Fellowship and CTI (Compatible Technology International). The scholarship amount and selection procedure followed for each of these scholarship programs differ. Under BG (British Gas) Fellowship, students are provided with a fellowship amount of Rs 8, 000/- per month along with a 50% of tuition fee –Rs 7, 500 (per annum).

BG (British Gas) Fellowship

Under this type of fellowship, students are provided with a fellowship amount of Rs 8, 000/- per month along with a 50% of tuition fee –Rs 7, 500 (per annum). Candidates are also provided Contingency & Consumables of Rs. 7,500/-. Institute overhead charges of Rs 11, 250 are also given for candidates under this fellowship scheme. The selection for this scheme will be done through the concerned department.

CTI (Compatible Technology International)

As part of this fellowship scheme, M.Tech students in IITB will receive a fellowship amount of Rs 8,000/- on a monthly basis. In addition to this, students will be allotted Rs 25, 000/- as tuition fees for each specific M.Tech semester. Candidates will be selected for this fellowship only on the basis of consent given by CTARA and CTI which will be immediately followed by a Personal Interview.

Dr. Gargi Vishnoi Memorial Scholarship

M.Tech students need to undergo a departmental selection procedure to become eligible for Dr. Gargi Vishnoi Memorial Scholarship program. As part of this, students will receive a specific scholarship amount of Rs 2,000/- per month apart from T.A.

Forbes Marshall Fellowship

Those M.Tech students who are eligible for this particular fellowship scheme will be able to receive Rs 14, 000/- per month along with a tuition fee reimbursement paid by students each semesters. An amount towards contingencies of Rs 15, 000/- during the course tenure for TA/DA, report preparation etc is also sanctioned under this scheme. A combined selection process is done through Energy Systems & Engineering department and Forbes Marshalls. As part of this, personal interview is conducted for students at the beginning of each semester.

Schlumberger Fellowship

The selection process for this fellowship program will depend on students performance in written test and personal interview conducted. Students will get a stipend amount of Rs 8, 000/- per month. In addition to this, a contingency payment of 50% tuition fee is given along with a miscellaneous expense of Rs 14, 000/-. Students are allotted overhead charges of Rs 13,000/- and consumable of Rs 5, 000/-.

TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) Fellowship

TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) offers fellowship program for M.Tech students which specifically includes a stipend Rs. 9,000/- per month. On the other hand, if CPI comes 8.00 or above Rs.500 gets added to the stipend amount for second year including tuition fee reimbursement deposited by students every single semester. The selection will be done on the basis of combined consent by the Electrical engineering department in IITB and TCS. As part of this, a personal interview will be organized to select interested and eligible students for this program at the starting of 1st semester.
