Admission Process in LPU

Admissions for Doctor of Philosophy programmes are made on the basis of entrance examination and Interview. Qualified candidates from GATE/ SLET/ GPAT/ ICAR hold Teacher Fellowship/ CSIR (JRF)/ UGC examinations are exempted from attending the written test.  Syllabus for the written test is same as that for UGC – CSIR and UGC – NET. The medium of the test is English. There will be two sessions for the entrance test, Part I, Part II (with subjective and objective type questions).

Part I is of general nature which intends to analyze the research and teaching aptitude of the candidate. The test is designed in such a manner to test comprehension, reasoning ability, general awareness and divergent thinking.

Part II consist of 6 questions, in which first five questions is of short answer type and the sixth question is of descriptive model with internal choice option.

A candidate will be shortlisted for the interview only on the basis of his/her score in the written test/ entrance examination. Final selection of the candidate for the admission in Ph.D programme will be entirely on the basis of his/her performance in interview.
