Admission Process for M.Sc (Chemistry) in VNIT

B.Sc holders having studied Chemistry as a subject in all the three years of study cn apply for M.Sc (Chemistry) in VNIT. Admission is done either on the basis of the marks obtained in IIT JAM or written test carried out by VNIT. Questions for the entrance test are asked from topics such as Atomic Structure, Structure and Bonding, States of Matter, Electrochemistry, and Quantum Mechanics.


Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc (Chemistry) in VNIT

Bachelor’s degree or B.Sc degree with Chemistry as a subject of study in all the three years is the qualification required. Degree must be obtained with a minimum of 55% marks. In case of reserved category candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is enough to apply. Final year students satisfying the required qualification are also eligible for admission.

Admission Process for M.Sc (Chemistry) in VNIT

Admission process is done on the basis of Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test (IIT JAM). Those with out a valid score in IIT JAM must qualify the entrance test conducted by VNIT. The entrance test is conducted in objective model and duration for the test is 1 hour. Questions for the test are asked from the following topics.

Application form and information brochure for the entrance test can be collected from the website of VNIT. Application fee of Rs.300/- must be paid in the form of DD taken in favor of the Director of VNIT. Filled up application must be submitted along with attested copies of mark sheets and JAM score card, if applicable.
