The study of B.E in Metallurgical Engineering is among the toughest and demanding course in the field of engineering. This course deals with the study of metals and their oxides and other in organic substances. Simply, metallurgy is the domain of material science which focuses on the study of physical and chemical behavior of metallic elements along with their inter-metallic compounds and their mixtures which are better known as alloys.

The students are given knowledge on the technology of metals, i.e. the way in which science is applied on their practical use. Metallurgy is commonly used in metal working and crafting metals. The students even acquire knowledge on the extraction and purification procedure of various metals from an ore.

Eligibility:

The candidates applying for the course of B.E in Metallurgical Engineering should hold a pass certificate of 10 and 10+2 form any recognized University or board of the country. The candidates must qualify the state joint entrance exams (JEE) or may even enter the course through All India Joint Entrance Exam (AIEEE). The minimum percentage of marks to sit in these exams is 50%. Candidates can also join after completion of their diploma courses.

Course outlook:

B.E in Metallurgical Engineering is a course having a span of 4 years, which includes two semesters per year, i.e. a total of eight exams in the span of the course.

Few topics included in the course are, extraction of metals, metal processing, surface heat treatment of metals, purification process of the non-purified metals in blast furnace (at +1000 degree Centigrade), plating, casehardening, microstructure, etc.

Job prospects:

The students after completion of this course can get high profile jobs with fair salary in private firms. Candidates can also work as engineers in government sectors. The can get jobs in thermal power plants zones, with handsome salary.

    @siddu….in foods stuffed environment the condition reverses and tin acts as a anode in comparison to steel and prevents it from getting corroded
