Indian Defence Estates Service is responsible for the activities like administration of the Cantonments, management and Procument of lands vested with Ministry of Defence. The Director General, Defence Estates, New Delhi is the Head of the Department of the Indian Defence estates.

Educational Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering and atleast 3 years experience in the respective field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800/- + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/-

2. Recruitment of Sub Divisional officer (Grade-III):

Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent or Diploma or certificate of registered institute in Surveying of not less than 2 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200/- + Grade Pay of Rs. 2400/-

3. Recruitment of Stenographer (Grade-III):

Educational Qualification: Matriculation from a recognized board or institute or equivalent.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200/- + Grade Pay of Rs. 2400/-

4. Recruitment of Hindi Typist:

Eligibility:

Candidates should not be more than 27 years of age as on 1 December 2009 for the posts of Subdivisional Officer (Grade-III), Stenographer and Hindi Typists while the candidates age should not be more than 30 years for the posts of Sub Divisional Officer (Grade-I) and Junior Hindi Translator.
