The Airplane pilots are the professionals who are trained to fly the airplanes or helicopters to carry out different tasks. The tasks may include carrying passengers, cargo or mails. While some other aircraft pilots’ duty is to dust crops or to take pictures of the earth.

There will be usually two main pilots in the cockpit crew except for the small aircrafts. The well experienced one is the captain of the aircraft who manages all other members in the crew. The pilot and copilot in the aircraft shares the flying and related duties. In most of the large airplanes, there will be third member called the flight engineer who assists the pilots in some duties. The primary duties of an aircraft pilot includes performing preflight verification to ensure that the equipments and gauges are functioning properly, plot the flight plan and record it with concerned officials. They should also have to communicate with the flight correspondents and weather forecasters, activate the radio equipments to communicate with the control tower and operate the aircraft during its takeoff, flight and landing.

Qualifying Exam

To become an aircraft pilot, one mainly needs the airplane license. Most of the airline companies require candidates who have completed their graduation from a reputed institution. The subjects they studied at this level should include English, Physics, Mathematics or they must have a degree in aeronautical engineering. For obtaining the training as pilot and license they must have passed at least higher secondary education. There are numerous pilot training institutes in the country.

Who is eligible to apply?

The aspirants who have completed their higher secondary education in any of science subjects from a reputed institution can apply for the pilot training programmes offered in many institutes. But many airline companies now recruit candidates with graduation. Students can apply for the graduation in aeronautical engineering or any related field after the HS education. However to become a pilot in aircraft candidates require the pilot training and license, usually the Commercial Pilot License (CPL).

  • Pursue the graduation in aeronautical engineering or related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Apply for the pilot training programme in any institution which offers it and obtain the pilot license.

Skills required for an Aircraft pilot

The Aircraft pilot requires many qualities to perform well in their profession. They must have a strong knowledge about the principles and methods involved in the movement of goods or people by airways. They must have a detailed knowledge about the equipments and systems inside the aircraft and must be able to control it properly. Besides all, they must satisfy the physical standards that are required for an airplane pilot.

    WITHOUT DOING AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING ONE CANNOT BECOME A PILOT IN AIR LINES.LIKE BOEING 797 AND 747..BUT THE PERSON IS COMPLETED WITH THE COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE.
