AUCET Geophysics Entrance Test 2012
Andhra University organizes AUCET Geophysics Entrance Test every year with an objective of admitting students for Doctor of Philosophy in Geophysics program offered at this University. The University also offers numerous other PhD programs and conducts separate entrance tests for admitting aspirants into these programs.
Structure of AUCET Geophysics Entrance Test
AUCET Geophysics Entrance Test will be an objective type test. There will be 2 papers for this entrance test. The first paper will be common for all subjects. The second paper will be based on the topics which are covered under the qualifying examinations. The total time that will be allotted for this entrance test will be 130 minutes from which 45 minutes will be allocated for paper I to do 50 questions. The rest of the time will be given for paper II in which there will be 100 questions. The first paper will be to evaluate the scientific awareness and also the reasoning aptitude of the students.

Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants who hold a postgraduate level degree in Geophysics or any related field can apply for this test. This qualification should be obtained from any of the recognized educational institutions that too with an overall aggregate of 55% marks.
How to Apply?
The students can obtain the application forms for the AUCET Geophysics Entrance Test by paying a fee of Rs. 300/-. These forms can be procured directly via any of the sales counters of Andhra University. By sending a demand draft of Rs.350/- the students can receive the application forms via postal method also. The DD must be in favor of ‘The Director’, AUCET, Directorate of Admissions.
How to fill the Form?
The application forms should be filled very carefully as any simple mistakes can sometimes lead to rejection of the applications. The name of the applicants as well as name of the father and guardian should be entered in specified blocks accurately. They need to correctly specify their category name and also qualification details as well. The contact details of the students should also be entered very carefully. They should make sure that the application form will reach the correct address within the specified time limit.

Study Plan
The aspirants need to be well prepared to clear this highly competitive exam. The study plan should be set up a few months before the test. The plan should focus on the tough areas of the subject. They should split up the portions into various units and separate time should be allotted to each of these units. The students should be keen enough to strictly follow this study plan and finish the portions within the limited time. Time management should be concentrated in the plan as the main exam has to be finished within the restricted time. Good coaching centers can be chosen by these students for further assistance. Revision is the critical area in the preparation for this exam. Maximum time should be allotted for this purpose and this is the time to recollect the already covered topics.
