Job Profile: A constable (wireless operator) on temporary basis, responsible for maintaining law and order in the city and to be fair in all cases.
There are 39 posts in total which are distributed as SC (male- 03, Female- 04), ST (Male- 06, Female- 08), Gen (Male- 00, Female- 18)

The pay scale is of Rs. 3120 – 5160. The initial pay will be Rs. 3330 and allowances will be given time to time as per the rules.
Age limit is between 18 to 22 years (as on 01/01/2009).
Relaxable up to the age of 28 years for SC candidates.
Relaxable up to the age of 26 years for OBC candidates.

Educational qualification required:
The minimum qualification required is 10+2 with Mathematics and Science as on 01/01/2009.

Desirables:

1. Minimum Height: 5 feet 7 inches for males.
5 feet 2 inches for females.

2. Chest (minimum): 33 inches (only for males)

NOTE: Relaxation of 2 inches in height or chest can be provided to the wards of working/retired (except dismissed or compulsory retired) Chandigarh police officers.

Selection procedure: Eligible candidates are required to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) on 07/08/09 in police lines, sector – 26, Chandigarh.
Written Exam will take place on 09/08/09 and Interviews will be held on 11/08/09.

How to apply: The candidates are required to fill the complete application form online on or before 20/7/2009. The filled in application should be downloaded and a hard copy of the filled in copy is to be send on or before 27/07/2009.
The candidates are also required to get a demand draft of Rs. 100 to be made in the form of application fee. The DD should be in favour of “Section officer/Accounts, UT police hqrs” Payable at Chandigarh.
