Civil Services Commerce Prelims papers
Everyone desires to be at the posts like IAS, IFS, and IPS etc as these posts are regarded as the most prestigious ones in India. They give power as well a chance to serve the nation. The top in this job have a say in the administration of the nation. You can be one among them, provided you clear the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union public Service Commission. The exam is held in two stages- the prelims and the mains. To be eligible to sit for the mains you need to crack the prelims. There are many subjects to choose from for the preliminary test. Commerce is one of them.
The Commerce Prelims Test carries a total of 300 marks and the duration of the exam is three hours. There are 120 multiple choice type questions in the exam. Every question is given four options with one of them being correct. The questions carry equal marks and the entire syllabus is covered by the questions. Negative marking is also there for incorrect answers. Multiple answers are also considered to be wrong. Questions are given in two languages only- English and Hindi. Once you are done with the prelims start preparing for the mains straightaway as you hardly get much time after the prelims for the mains.

I have cleared my 12th Science from National Institute Of Open Schooling. I may take up Engg. or any graduate degree now. My main aim is to be an IPS or IAS. Can you please guide me as to when these exams are held? Also should I join coaching institutes or is Self- Study a better option? Which books should I refer? I was told that a student of an Open school like NIOS or an open university like IGNOU is not eligible for Civil Services examination. If this is true then if I complete my graduation through a regular college then would that suffice? Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.
