Computer Forensics Investigator - How to Become a Computer Forensics Investigator?
Professionals who are involved in investigation of computer related crimes are referred to as Computer Forensics Investigator. They are also responsible for the legal investigation of crimes involving digital technologies such as cameras, PDAs, mobile phones, hard disks, and USB storage devices.
Computer crimes mainly occur in areas of network hacking, illegal downloading, electronic theft, and so on. These professionals analyze the confidential data recovered from computers to collect evidence for crimes. They recover secret information such as passwords or emails and data from encrypted or erased files as part of the investigation process. They prepare the detailed report of their findings for the presentation of the same in the court. The candidate should possess adequate educational qualifications and analytical skills to do well in the job.
Qualifying Exam
The candidate has to qualify graduate level exams in area of computer forensics or related area to become a Computer Forensics Investigator. Bachelor degree in disciplines of Computer science, information technology and information systems security will also help. The course study includes subjects on law enforcement and offers adequate skills in latest forensics technology. Qualified candidates have to pass the exams conducted by SSC, UPSC, etc to secure a job in government sector. They have to face complex entrance exams to get recruited in to corporate sector also.
