Admission Process for UG Courses at Scad College of Engineering

Scad College of Engineering allows candidates to have admission to first year or second year of B.E/B.Tech course. For first year admissions, applicant must have completed HSC course from Tamil Nadu Board of Education or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects. In case of open category candidates, qualifying examination must be passed with a minimum of 50% marks. Backward category candidates need to hold a minimum of 45% marks only. Candidates from other states must have a minimum of 55% marks. Admission is carried out on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and interview.

Lateral entry admissions to 2nd year of engineering are made available for diploma holders, who have obtained the qualification from the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu (or equivalent). B.Sc graduates having studied mathematics as a subject can also apply. Such candidates must have passed B.Sc/diploma with at least 60% marks and 10 + 2 with specific percentage of marks. Candidates from other states as well as open category candidates must have passed HSC with a minimum of 55% marks. Fifty percentage marks is required for backward category students where as mere pass is enough for SC/ST candidates.

Admission Process for PG Courses at Scad College of Engineering

For admission to M.E/M.Tech courses, applicant must hold bachelor degree in engineering /technology in the appropriate subject with a minimum of 50% marks. Those who have obtained the qualification through distance or correspondence mode are not eligible to apply. Score in entrance test like GATE and TANCET forms the basis of admission. Graduates with a minimum of 50% marks can seek admission to MBA on the basis of TANCET score. Bachelor degree holders who have studied mathematics as a subject at 12th or graduation, and with a decent score in TANCET (MCA) can apply for MCA degree.
