Essential Details on Post-Matric Scholarship
Post-Matric Scholarship is a financial assistance program by Government of India. Under the scheme, meritorious students who are financially weak and belonging to minority community are offered with economic assistance. Distribution of funds is made through the concerned State Government/Union Territory administration. Selection of students is done on the basis of their annual family income. Selected students are offered with financial assistance in admission fee, course /tuition fee, and maintenance allowance.
Eligibility and Selection Procedure for Post-Matric Scholarship
In order to avail the benefits of this scholarship, candidate must belong to any minority community as mentioned under the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992. Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Sikhs, and Parsis are considered as minority community under this act. Aspirant should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the previous final exam. The annual income (from all sources) of the parents does not exceed above Rs. 2 lakh per annum. Selection of students is done on the basis of annual income. Those with lowest income will be given in the ascending order. 30% of the scholarship is reserved for girl students. If case, if eligible girl students are not available, then eligible boy students are offered with the opportunity.
Benefits of Post-Matric Scholarship
Students selected for post-matric scholarship are provided with financial assistance in admission fee, course /tuition fee, and maintenance allowance. Maintenance allowance is given on monthly basis for 10 months in the entire academic year.

For XI –XII students – subject to the maximum ceiling of Rs. 7000/- per annum
For technical and vocational courses — subject to the maximum ceiling of Rs. 10,000/- per annum
For Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses — subject to the maximum ceiling of Rs. 3000/- per annum

For XI –XII students
- Hosteller – Rs. 235/-
- Day Scholar – Rs. 140/-
For technical and vocational courses
- Hosteller – Rs. 235/-
- Day Scholar – Rs. 140/-
For Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses
- Hosteller – Rs. 355/-
- Day Scholar – Rs. 185/-
For M.Phil & Ph.D Courses
- Hosteller – Rs. 510/-
- Day Scholar – Rs. 330/-
Application Procedure for Post-Matric Scholarship
Application forms are issued by the concerned State Government/Union Territory administration. Filled up application form must be submitted along with necessary certificates/certifications. Selection of students is made from the pool of received applications. Funds are transferred (to selected students) to student’s bank account. 100% funding is done by central government. Admission and course/ tuition fee is forwarded to the account of the concerned School/ College/ University/ Institute.
