Yes you can definitely give IIT exam and get admission in the IITs for pursuing your BE/B.Tech course. However, you cannot get admission directly in the second year of engineering in the IITs via Lateral Entry Scheme after completion of your diploma course. You need to appear for the entrance exam and then qualify in it with a very good rank. On the basis of your rank you will get admission in the concerned IITs and the concerned branch of engineering.
