Dear Sir, I am a doing Diploma in Tool and Die Engineering from Central tool room, Ludhiana. I would like to take admission in NIT so please tell me the procedure to be followed.

To get the admission in NIT's candidate have to appear and qualify in JEE examination and the eligibility to appear for examination is :-

Candidate must have passed 10+2 from any recognised board.

Candidate's must have PCM as main paper.

So, you are not eligible for admission but you can appear for LEET conducted by various institutes for admission in 2nd year of B.Tech course through Lateral Entry.

The diploma passed candidates are not eligible to appear for JEE examination conducted in two stages by CBSE and IIT.

No, you are not eligible to take admission in NIT after completion of your Diploma course. Only candidates who have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination with PCM stream from a recognised board are eligible to get admission in NIT through JEE Main examination. So, being a Diploma holder, you are not eligible to get admission in NIT. And you are eligible to direct admission in second year of four years Engineering through Lateral Entry admission process in other colleges/ universities.
