To want to become a IPS minimum qualification is graduation with any stream.
So, whether you can choose Engineering and any other degree also you can eligible for Civils.
So, you can choose as per your interest in graduation.
And also start preparation for Civil’s and after the graduation you can eligible to apply for exams.
Final year’s students of Graduation degree are also eligible for these exams.

Age of candidate should be between 21 to 30 years

For SC/ST - 21 to 35 years...

For OBC - 21 to 33 years...

Nationality of INDIA....

First of all IAS/IPS are the posts which is given after successfully completion of the entrance exam.For this you have to appear in the civil service exam which is conducted by the UPSC every year.The basic eligibility criteria for this exam is to have a bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized university with good percentile.

Also the appearing aspirants age must lie in between 21 years to 30 years as GE category to be eligible for this course.The reserved category aspirants like Sc/St get the relaxation by 5 years and the obc category aspirants get the relaxation by 3 years.There is no limit to attempt the exam for Sc/St/PD aspirants.For Obc aspirants 7 attempts are given and for general it is 4.


So you are totally free to choose any of the bachelor degree which is available to you easily and in which you can easily score good marks.

Sir, I'm Anurag Gupta, studying in class 12 PCM . I want to become an IAS.
but I am in a dilemma to choose b/w B.Sc and B.A. .
So please suggest me to what to choose with some knowledge in that field.

if anyone however doesnt pass upsc by taking arts in xii class and graduation. is any option for anyone for getting job in multinational company

It is not possible to become an IPS Officer right after completing 12th standard! In order to become an IPS Officer, you must apply for CSE exam conducted by the UPSC. You must also crack the exam (preliminary, mains and interview) in order to get selected for the training
