Hi sir am praveen am completed my MBA recenlty i want to become a ias officer i know some information about that but i have one doubt sir yesterday one ias institute said main optional subjects are 17 but in here total 23 totally confused and main thing is already know the management subject so thats why i decided to choose management is it better for me and i don't know which subject i can choose in the optional two

IAS (Indian Administrative Services) is basically for those who are firmly determined for dedication of themselves towards the own country.
Eligibility Criteria :- 1.Educational Qualification:To appear in IAS exam you should have a Graduation degree in any stream from a recognize University. If you are in final year you can also eligible to apply for the examination. 2.Age:The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the candidates belong to reservation category. No.Of Attemptes: General Candidates - 4 Attempts OBC Candidates - 7 Attempts SC/ST Candidates - No Limits. i am an engineering student and my branch is electronics and communication can i choose electronics as an optional subject because in the recent answers i saw that electronics is available as an optional subject but it is neither present in the prelim optional subject list nor the mains list if not so which subjects shall i choose as my optional subjects please reply me at [email protected] thank you |

Hi friend,
the basic requirement for becoming ips/ias is completing graduation in any discipline. As you have completed engineering in mechanical engineering , you are eligible for ias and ips. The following requirements are also fullfilled by the candidate. His/her age should be between 21-30 for general category candidates and it should be between 21-33 for obc category candidates and it should be 21-33 for sc/st category candidates. Relaxation of 3 years and 5 years age limit is given to obc and sc/st candidates respectively all the best... |

IAS in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences, IAS in Agriculture, IAS in Anthropology, IAS in Botany, IAS in Civil Engineering, IAS in Economics, IAS in Zoology IAS in General Studies, IAS in Geography, IAS in Geology, IAS in Indian History, IAS in Management, IAS in Mathematics, IAS in Medical Science, IAS in Physics, IAS in Political Science, IAS in Psychology, IAS in Sociology, IAS in Public Administration, IAS in Chemistry IAS in Philosophy yeah you can do it. yes physics is an optional subject in IAS see above. even mathematics is also there. i think you have to choose two optional subjects for the exam. so choose maths or physics or both good luck |

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. It is one of the top civil service in India.
In order to be placed in IAS or any other civil service, you should crack the below mentioned selection procedure CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) Civil Services Main Exam Interview As per the eligibility criteria, The candidate should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation can also apply for this Exam but they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview. Candidates of General category should possess an age between 21-30 years Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category. You have to select the Optional subject for Civil Services Main Exam. As you are a candidate pursuing Electrical Engineering, I suggest you to opt for this subject as the optional subject for civil services exam.
