iiser conducts no exams especially. it takes students through iit-jee, kvpy, and board exams,

but it conducted an aptitude test after +2 for only students who enter through boards exams.
for 2011. aptitude test date is 16/07/2011

How to follow admission procedure of IISER for the students who passed class 12th?

Diect admission procedure to IISER

Candidates satisfying at least one of the following three criteria may apply:

1. KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) : Students qualified in SA (2010) / SX (2011) / SB(2010)/SP (passed 10+2 in 2011/2012).

2. IIT-JEE 2012: Students obtaining a minimum of 60% marks in Class XII and securing a rank in the regular merit list.

3. STATE / CENTRAL BOARDS(DIRECT ADMISSION):Students qualifying in class XII in 2011 or 2012 in science stream. The State/Central Boards must be recognized by the MHRD. The cut off percentage to be used for the boards for Class X and Class XII are given in http://www.iiser-admissions.in/marks/

The Admission procedure to IISER after 12th there is some Eligibility for Indian Institute of Science Education and Research PhD Admission that is:
1.The qualification for the Ph.D. program is Masters degree from any recognized University / Institute or its equivalent.
2.Final year Masters students who are yet to obtain their degree may also appear in the admission procedure.
3.At the time of admission only candidates with a M.Sc. or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks in the subject concerned will be considered.
4.However, for candidates awaiting their results, provisional admission may be allowed with special permission of the Director.

IISER Science Education and Research Selection Procedure is :

1.List of shortlisted candidates ( based on merit, subject specialization and required research area ) for IISER Institute Test / Interview will be published in the IISER – Kolkata website www.iiserkol.ac.in.

2.Indian Institute of Science Education & Research test / interview will be held.

3.IISER Institute selected candidates will receive the offer letter containing also the last date for joining shortly after the IISER Institute interview.

Generally IISER does not take any qualifying exams.
The admission is done through IIT-JEE or other board exams.
Although students entering through Board exams have to give an aptitude test.
Generally this aptitude test is held in the month of June-July.
