Hey friend,

I have mentioned the eligibility criteria which a candidate must possess for writing the NET exam.

Eligibility:

1. The candidate must finish their Master's degree from a recognized university with 55% aggregate.For SC/ST/VH/PH candidates it is 50%.
2. The candidates must appear with the subjects of their post graduation only.

NET examination Was Conducted By UGC Every Year And To apply for this examination, you need to complete your Master Degree Examination with At Least 55% Marks. So, If You have Complete Your Master degree examination with 55% Marks, Then yes You are eligible for NET Examination.

So, If You who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities recognised by UGC, then you can apply for NET Examination. Final Year Master Degree Candidates are also eligible to apply for NET Examination.

The examination was held 2 times In a Year, Firstly In the Month Of June And Another In December, Eligible candidates may apply for this examination Online. So, If You are Interested to apply Online, then You are required to download the Bank Challan Performa from the UGC website and then deposit the requisite test fee in any branch of State Bank of India. And After Deposit the Fees, You Can fill the online Application form.

The Examination fees for NET Examination for General Candidates was Rs 450.

If You are interested to apply for Lectureship, then there is no upper age limit criteria for this post, But if you want to apply for Junior Research Fellowship, then Your age should not be more than 28 Years. Age Relaxation is only applicable for SC, ST and other Category Candidates.

No dear NET exam is only for masters degree holder with 55% marks for the genl candidate and for sc/st candidate the marks should be atleast 50%.

1.you must not be more then the age of 28 years.

2.You must have completed your master in graduation with minimum of 55% marks for General and OBC students; 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped students.

3.Phd degree holder can also apply.

If you have completed MA in Political Science with an aggregate of 55% marks , then you are definitely eligible for the NET Exam.

The Acronym "NET" stands for National Eligibility Test whereas SET Stands for State Eligibility Test.

Both the Tests are conducted for the same purpose but the only difference is that NET is conducted at national level whereas SET is conducted on State Level.

The Candidates who want to be selected for the following posts are more likely to apply for the NET :

lectureship

eligibility for net :

must have scored 55% in post graduation
