sir, i m passed 12th science with 64.17%. am i eligible for CDS exam . my height is 163cms. tell me detail about EXAM and other things after passing written exam.

No friend, you are not eligible for CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam because the minimum educational qualification is graduation. So first complete your graduation then after you are eligible for this exam. The details are given below.

CDS has four types of wings. This exam conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year.



CDS has 4 wings:-

Indian Military academy,

Indian Naval academy,

Indian Airforce academy,

Officers Training Academy.


Eligibility criteria:-

For Indian Militay academy and Officers Training Academy the applicant must have to complete graduation in any stream from a recognised university.

For Indian Naval academy and Indian Airforce academy the candidate should be complete Engineering graduation from a recognised university.

There is no need of percentage restrictions to apply this exam.

Applicant should be a citizen of India.

The candidate must be physically fit.

Male and Female both are eligible for this exam.


Age criteria:-

The age limits for Indian Military academy are 19 to 24 years,

The age limits for Indian Naval academy are 19 to 22 years,

The age limits for Indian Airforce academy are 19 to 23 years,

For Officers Training Academy are 19 to 25 years.

No upper age relaxation.

Selection steps:-

Written exam,

Personality/ Interview test.

No you are not eligible to apply for CDS examination after passing 12th with Science Stream because to apply for this examination , the candidate need to holding the degree course . So you can not completed degree course so you can not eligible to apply for CDS Examination . I think you have not aware of CDS Examination , for your information i am provide the full details of this examination . CDS is defence service examination for recruitment of department position like Military Academy , Naval Academy , Air force Academy and Officer Training Academy and this examination is conducted by UPSC twice in a year .

Minimum Education Qualification required to apply for this examination is that candidate have to completed any degree course and No minimum marks required to apply for this examination . Education Qualification is differ from department service and each service have a their own criteria . Candidate who are interested to join the Air force or Naval Academy then the candidate need to completed bachelor's degree with Physics and Mathematics as important subjects to apply .

Military Academy :: 19 - 24 yrs , Naval Academy :: 19-22 yrs , Air force Academy :: 19-23 yrs and Officer Training Academy :: 19-25 yrs and No upper age limits is applicable for reserved categories .

Exam Pattern :: Written Test , SSB Interview followed by Physical Test & Medical Test . Written exam will be based on General knowledge , Mathematics and English Language .

So i think you are clear now and this information useful to you . If you are willing to join Defence service then you can join through NDA (National Defence Academy Examination ) .

Eligibility Criteria ::

~~You should be qualified your 12th with Physics and Mathematics as important subjects to applying the post of Air force , Navy and there is no specific discipline to apply for the Army wings . Any stream candidate can apply .

~~You must have a 16 1/2 - 19 years and Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for this examination .

You need Graduation if you want to apply for CDS examination which is conducted by UPSC.

12th standard is not enough for CDS examination. So it will be good for your to take admission into Graduation.

If your age is between 16.5 to 19 years then you will be eligible for NDA examination. NDA exam is also conducted by UPSC and it is for 12th pass students.

Age Limit for CDS Exam:

Indian Naval Academy - 19 to 22 years

Indian Air Force Academy - 19 to 23 years

Indian Military Academy - 19 to 24 years

Officers' Training Academy - 19 to 25 years

Selection Procedure:

-Objective Type Paper

-SSB Interview

-Medical Examination

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service . UPSC Conduct CDS Examination for twice in a year .

Educational Qualification:-

1. For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy : Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
2. For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering for CDSE and Degree in Engineering or B.Sc. ( with Physics or Mathematics ) for NCC entry.
3. For Air Force Academy : Degree of recognized University ( with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level ) or Bachelor of Engineering.

No , 12th standard candidate are not applicable for CDS exam but you can try for NDA exam

Age Criteria:-

1. Indian Military Academy: - 19-24 Years
2. Air Force Academy: - 19-23 Years
3. Naval Academy: - 19-22 Years

Sorry my dear friend,you will not be eligible to appear in CDSE(Combined Defence Services Examination) after passing your 10+2.This exam is conducted by the UPSC at Graduation/Degree level.

Exam Notification details for CDSE :

• Notification of Examination - August and March of every tentative year.
• Examination taken - February and August in Consecutive year.

There are four Wings for which you an apply through this exam.These are :-

I have got less than 60 marks in pcm in 10 2 now i am in btech final can i apply for CDS exam.
