NDA - National Defence Academy, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II to join Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

NDA you need be in 12th class or 12th passed.To get eligible for NDA II 2013, your age limits must be 16-1/5 to 19 years of age i.e Only unmarried male candidate born not earlier than 2nd July 1995 and Not later than 1st January 1998 are eligible. National Defence Academy (NDA) is a service academy of three joint forces in India that is army, navy and air force. National Academy and National Defence Academy conducted by UPSC two times in the month of April & August.

A candidate must either be: (i) a citizen of India/ a subject of Bhutan/ a subject of Nepal/ a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational Qualification:
1. For Army wing of National Defence Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education/ equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

2. For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Physical:
1. You must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission and Naval Academy Examination as per guidelines.

As the age limit for this examination is 16.5-19 years,. So you are eligible for this examination.

For the next NDA exams that will be held on 14th April 2013 Candidates born between 2nd January 1995 to 1st July 1997 can apply.

So as per the age eligibilty, you can apply for the next NDA exam of april

For the NDA exams that will be held on 11th August 2013 Candidates born between 2nd July 1995 to 1st January 1998 can apply.

So for the NDA exams that will be held in August 2013, you are not eligible to apply

The UPSC NDA Exam comprises of two stages :
I. Written Examination
II. Interview

I. Written Examination : There will be two papers in NDA (National Defence Academy) written exam.
The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers of Mathematics & Part B of General Ability Test will be set in both Hindi as well as English medium of language.
Time duration for each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

> Scheme of Examination :-

1. Mathematics : 300 Marks
2. General Ability Test : 600 marks
> The whole examinationis of 900 marks.

II. Interview : Candidates who get selected in the written examination are called for interview which is conducted by SSB. The candidates shall appear before a Service Selection Board (SSB) Test for intelligence and personality test where candidates for the Army/ Navy wings of the NDA and 10+2 executive branxh of Naval Academy will be assessed on officers potentiality and those for the Air Force in Pilot Aptitude Test and for officers pottentiality.
PABT applicable to candidaets with Air Force as First Choice would also be conducted for all SSB qualified candidates with one of the choice as Air Force subject to their eligibility and if they are so willing.
