It is one of the toughest exam in India and it is very good that you want to become an IAS officer, but let me tell you in the beginning that it is a very tough exam so please prepare well as the success percentage is very low and only dedicated person can clear this type of exam. IAS eligibility is as follows:- 1. 21-30 years of AGE 2. Indian citizen 3. Graduate from a recognized university 4. No subject preference. Now the good news for you is that you are eligible for the exam. Re: Am I eligible for IAS exam? I am 29 years old
Indian Administrative Service exam is conducted under Civil Service Examination by the Union Public Service Commission. The job of IAS officer is to implement government policies. IAS officer has to ensure that policies are being implemented properly. To do so, he/she visits the areas on regular basis.
The age limit to apply for Indian Administrative Service is 21 (minimum) and 30 (maximum). Your date of birth is 1983 and therefore in 2013 you will be 30 years old. As per Union Public Service Commission, the age of the candidate would be determined as on August 1 of examination year. So if you plan to appear for Civil Service Examination in 2013, you will be under the age limit and thus eligible for the Civil Service Examination. But for that you should apply for the exam right now. The preliminary exams are conducted in May/June and Main exam is August/September. If you failed to appear for Civil Service Examinationin 2013, then I am afraid there will be no other option for you. IAS Eligibility 1. You should be of Indian origin. 2. Bachelor degree in any stream. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years as on August 1 of examination year. 5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 6. SC/ST are eligible for upto 5 years relaxation in upper age limit. Selection Process 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Interview |
