hello sir
i am praveen kumar sing, studied in b.com 2nd yr and my date of birth is 13 jan 1992.
i want to know that wether i am eligibile or not to join indian army as soldier post(gd)?

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Military Academy :-
• Your nationality must be Indian.
• You must be an unmarried male candidate.
• You must come under the age bar i.e. 19 years to 24 years.
• You must have completed your Graduation with any stream from a recognized University.
• Final year appearing candidates may also apply for the examination

Dear Praveen,

It is good to see your interest towards the Indian Defence and i appreciate you for thinking of Indian Army. See if you want to go for Indian Army then you have to pass an Exam which is called as Indian Army Soldier General Duty (NER) Exam. This exam is conducted by Our Army to appoint soldier for General duty. Time to time they publish there requirement in the news paper and hence i advice you that you should keep an eye over Employment Newspaper which is published every week.

Eligibility is as follows :-

Unmarried male Indian citizens are eligible for the exam

Matriculation or equivalent with Mathematics, English and Science. and you are doing graduation so there is no problem in that.

Age SHould be between 16 to 21 years.

Physical Standards:
Height: 167 cm
Chest: 77 with 5 cm expansion

Friend after passing graduation why you didn't want to become Army officer.

For this you have to qualify the entrance exam called as COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES(C.D.S).

COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES

C.D.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass graduation with recognized university
> Age limit:-19-24 year.
> Must be citizen of India
> Medically fit

There are three steep of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

IMPORTANT DATE FOR C.D.S(II), 2013:-
Date Of Notification:-25.05.2013
Last date of submission of form:-24.06.2013 (MONDAY)
Date of exam:-08.09.2013 (SUNDAY)

Yes Praveen, you can go for Indian Army as a soldier.
You must have atleast 5 feet & 8 inches of height, better stamina & a well structured posture of your body...

To join Indian Army you must have completed graduation in any stream with any percentage from recognised college or university.
You can also apply for the exam while pursuing in final year of graduation.

For Indian Army you have to appear for the CDS exam.

CDSE stands for Combined Defence Services Exam. The exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Services Commission). The exam is held twice in a year named as CDS-I and CDS-II for the posts in INA, IAFA, IMA and OTA.

IAFA is Indian Air Force Academy
IMA is Indian Military Academy
OTA is Officers Training Academy

For INA and IAFA you need B.Sc with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Engineering degree to apply for the exam. for OTA and IMA you need graduation degree in any discipline. you can also apply for the exam while studying in final year of graduation.

Age Limit for various departments:

For INA: 19 years to 22 years
For IAFA: 19 years to 23 years
For IMA: 19 years to 24 years
For OTA: 19 years to 25 years
