i have completed b.tech in mechanical with 59.6%. Am i eligible for merchant navy.? is there any competitive paper to b cleared for enterance?

Mechanical engineers are eligible for direct entry into the Merchant Navy. Any interested candidates with B.Tech degree in mechanical, electrical and technology are eligible for direct entry. Candidates undergo nine months long pre-sea course from MERI in Marine Engineering. Some of the jobs available for the engineers under direct entry like Cadet, Fifth Engineer, Junior Engineer.
