Eligibility for TNPSC Village Administrative Officer (VAO) –

Applicants must fulfill the required qualification and experience to be the eligible for VAO.

Candidates should meet the criteria for Educational qualification ,Age limitation and other as following –


Age Limitation -

For qualify the age criteria candidate age is 30 year for reserved and unreserved category but in case of reserved it can be extend to 40 year which is maximum as on 1st July 2012.

If any candidates does not meet the given criteria then he/she would not be able to apply for TNPSC Village Administrative Officer (VAO) examination.

Education Qualification for VAO –

Applicants applying for these vacant must have secondary school leaving certificate (SSLC) or any equivalent.

Candidates who don’t have SSLC certificates are eligible to apply for current positions.

Candidates should be fit physically for physical test during recruitment session.

Candidates should have perfect knowledge of Tamil language .

So the applicants who meet the given criteria for educational qualification are eligible for apply the TNPSC Village Administrative Officer (VAO) 2012.

Candidates not having SSLC or equivalent if have any higher qualification then it will be ignored as per rule of TNPSC.

Syllabus for TNPSC Village Administrative Officer (VAO) –

For VAO written examination, question are asked on two topics –

General knowledge & General English/Tamil.

In General knowledge question are asked in two version Tamil and English.

Question will be descriptive and have to write within 20 words answer for such questions.

Examination will be done in 1 paper having 300 marks.

Each section have 150 marks and the applicants have to minimum 90 marks to qualify the further stage.


Pay Scale (Salary ) –
After all proceeding related to recruitment, Appointed candidates will have Rs. 5,200 -20,200 /- with grade pay Rs. 2,400/- as basic remunerations in initial stages.
